How important is it to speak Spanish when living in Costa Rica?
While it is possible to live in Costa Rica without learning the local language, we find that folks that take this route, find themselves having to rely on friends, relatives and others to help them navigate their day-to-day lives in Costa Rica.
From interacting with the clerk at the corner store, to asking for advice at the pharmacy, to calling your internet provider to restore your wifi connection; having the skills to take on most of your daily necessities without having to rely of someone else, will make adapting to your new life in Costa Rica a much smoother and rewarding experience.
